I gave Obama and McCain a try. McCain don’t look right but oh well. The third candidate is lizard, who is going to be part of a little comic I’m thinking about. Vote Lizard. His campain slogan is, “I’ll kick ya in the nuts, but at least I’ll let you know it’s coming”. Has anyone noticed that McCain has no lips.

I’m not too good, but I came across a tip today from a caricature website. It said to do good caricatures you need to compare the face you are looking at to an average face.  Then you take those characteristics of the face you are drawing and exagerate them compared to that average face. So that got me thinking… what is the “average face”?

As luck would have it, there is a website called Face Research where they have attempted to discover the average face and have all kinds of studies on it. I used their page and highlighted every person on it to get this average face (It’s Pat from Saturday Night Live). How weird that it does look male and female at the same time.

Highlighting just the females gives you this average female face:

I think having this reference may improve my caricatures since I can compare faces to the average and will know which features are different. Gotta start somewhere.

Getting this in on the eleventh hour. Decided to go with “canned” people, a.k.a. soylent green. Had to cut the colors off short to get this in on time. I’m usually not too good with dark backgrounds so I had to put a bright spot in the middle. How about a little trivia.

He was by far the best boss I have had so it was crappy to see him go. My new boss, Bill, got promoted to Jim’s position. I happen to be lucky enough that he is also a great boss. So we are one guy short in the Tech team, but we have Matt, the monkey in the picture, to help us for the summer. Matt didn’t seem to mind being portrayed as a monkey.

The mountain dew machine is there because Jim was addicted to the stuff. Click for larger version.
