Book Update March 3, 2007
Here are a few pages that are done for my childrens book about a boy on a quest for the ultimate toy. In the end he finds that there is no ultimate toy and discovers that friends are better. A little project that is coming along slowly.
Click the pics to make them full size. Wordpress makes really fuzzy thumbnails.
I’m aware that the character may not look exactly the same throughout the pages, but the pictures will still tell the story.

ImPRESSive!!!
Are you doing both copy (in rhyme no-less!) AND Illustrations??!
I like what I see ~ thanks for letting us have a peek!

Thanks Phil,
Yeah, I’m doing the copy and illustrations. My artwork is not where I would like it to be, but it will have to do for now.
I’m glad it looks ok to you. I’m a bit critical of my own work. These illustrations tell the story, but they don’t feel like my best. I don’t sketch consistently enough.
Very cool!
Kids books can always teach adults important lessons, and that is a great lesson for all of us. Ultimate quests and questions for kids, posing as adults.
I heard about a service called Lulu.com that publishes your books on demand. no upfront printing costs…interesting.
Also, there is a woman at our church who has published many books and ghost written a bunch - I don’t have the info here at home, but will forward it to you tomorrow when i get to the office
God Bless your work.
Thanks Steve, that would be great. Any help or tips I can get is greatly appreciated.
Yeah, I planned on using Lulu.com. That is kind of how the project started for me. It looked like something fun to do and I had been sketching off and on for a while, so why not try to make something.
Lord willing, it will be used for His kingdom.
Here are the links, for whatever it might be worth to you.

Cade,
Glad to have met you yesterday at the Hotel. We have been going to the hotel since it was owned by Bill & Olga….I think Long Lake/The Hotel and the diverse group of individuals who have traveled through there would be great subject matter for another book.
Thanks again for signing the book for Katherine, I am certain she will love it.
